Friendship and epilepsy: A challenging journey

Losing a best friend is hard, especially when it feels like your epilepsy played a part. My closest friend and I shared over ten years of memories, but as my epilepsy progressed, so did the challenges to our friendship. Nights out often ended abruptly due to my absence seizures, a situation that increasingly frustrated him. Eventually, he declared he was tired of these interruptions ruining our time together and ended our friendship. Has this ever happened to you?

"It's heartbreaking to hear how epilepsy can impact friendships. I've experienced similar situations where friends struggle to understand or cope with my condition."
